    Appliances protection from electrical variation
I live in Ecuador and it is frequent to lose electrical power and recover in a very short time. To protect my refrigerator once I bought an artifact that blocked for 1 or 2 minutes the flow of electricity after a shortage of it. After that time delay it allowed again to pass electricity to the device connected to it. This artifact is plugged to a normal outlet in the house. The idea is that during that delay time the electricity becomes stable and when it passes through again doesn't damage the devices. I have tried to find one in home depot but I only find surge protectors. How do you call this kind of device in USA and where could I find them?

I'm not sure where to find them either. Our power is usually way to stable and we generally don't have a need for it.

However, here is a link to one such device: Powerguard :: Nothing Protects like PowerGuard
