    I have done so much baking as it is a hobby of mine and I can tell you that I have yet to make a scratch cake that was light and fluffy.
    They come out more like a pound cake.
    It is expensive ,time consuming and I have given up on it.
    Here is a recipe that you can try.Good luck!

    If you are looking for something 'your own' and different, start with a mix and then add stuff. It is sooo much fun to experiment!:D

    It has to do with the eggs and how they are mixed in with the butter and sugar. Mix in one at a time and beat well. That aerates the batter. Measure the flour exactly and add gradually. Make sure the baking soda or powder is fresh. Follow directions exactly.
