20 weeks and little or no movement
    Hi

I'm 20 weeks today, on previous weeks I have felt strong kicks and movement.
But now I feel very little movement, could this be sign that there is something up with the baby?

You have been posting your concerns about the baby not moving for three weeks. I think it's time to ask your Doctor this question.

    My question was...

Does little movement sometimes indicate a problem with the baby?

Not should I go to the doctor.

Of course I have felt movement since I posted last, but not an awful lot I have seen the doctor since that and everything looks fine.

The thing is, here in ireland they don't screen for abnormalities so its something that could be there, but won't know till the baby is born.

That is why I ask the question.

    Thank you.

At 20 weeks it can be tricky because baby is still small enough that his/her position changes can effect how much movement you might feel. In another several weeks you will start to be noticing much more movement on a regular basis. Later in your pregnancy, your midwife will possibly suggest doing kick counts so that you can have some peace of miind that baby is doing well, but again, because of baby's size right now, they aren't recommended just yet... would only cause unnecessary worry.

At this point all you can really do is try paying attention for some movement when you are lying down and resting... which is when many babies tend to be a bit more active, or see if you can stop in for a quick heartbeat check just for the reassurance.

I would suggest that you read the rules of the board, particularly those concerning the "agree" and "disagree" feature.

You have been posting the same question (can't feel movement of the fetus) for 3 weeks. You still haven't gone to a Doctor. I pointed this out to you and suggested that you go.

You find it rude that I pointed this out to you?

At this point you are either overly concerned or very careless about your unborn child. Ask Me Help Desk - FAQ: Terms of Service, FAQ and How To Use This Site

If you aren't feeling movement I would be less concerned about testing for abnormalities and more concerned about something far more serious. I have experience in this subject as do several other people who post.

You have posted other times about your concerns about a miscarriage (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/pregna...ms-330945.html as well as https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/pregna...ge-315557.html) and your 2-1/2 year old driving you "insane" (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/pregna...ml#post1645598) and I don't find a recommendation that you speak with a Physician to be out of line.

You must of missed the bit of my last post where I said I have been to the doc.

And in my opinion all expectant mothers concerns about miscarriage and fetal movement. And feeling like your toddler is driving you insane is completely normal.

Maybe you don't have any kids to know yourself.

There is nothing wrong with me. Only maybe I'm a worrier.
This site asks for my opinion on the answers given, and I did think you were rude. And I think you are being especially rude now.

I would thank you not to judge but to answer questions on how they are asked.
