I have been dating a woman who was taking paxil and is now taking lexapro (as well as topamax for migraines) --- we have had great times and real tough times... depending on how she is doing...

Has anyone on here dated someone who had symptoms requiring medication?
Did meds help them?
How did the relationship turn out?

Who are they dating or married to now?

How are you feel about them now?

It would really help to get another person's perspective!

Hey, I haven't dated anyone with a similar situation as your's but I can say, you worry too much. There are no obstacles that get between love. If you both truly love each other, I'm sure the relationship will last. If it doesn't than it wasn't meant to be. Now lay off with the worrying and enjoy great moments with her. Those are the ones she ill remember forever.

Let her worry about her own health. I'm guessing that you're not a doctor, so hopefully she's consulted a medical practitionner before taking the meds. But suggesting the idea is all you can really.

You should worry about making her happy and being there to support her.

All my ex's had sympton's requiring medication. None of them would do anything about it.

In all seriousness, I dated a girl who had depression and would take meds for it and she would have severe mood swings. Sometimes though she would not take the meciation and be fine so I never really understood what was going on. But when I knew she was taking the meds I made sure I wasn't around. Is that possible for you? Is the medication taken daily?

That's why its good to go to the doctor with them so yo can ask questions and get answers, and only a doctor can do that. All meds have side effects that only a doctor can deal with.

Yes the mood swings are horrid. And then they get upset because some make them gain weight. It's not an easy thing to deal with. But I took it in stride and didn't take it personally. I understand how she felt and what the meds could do. (I've had taken them before). It's just a shame I never got the same when I wouldn't be in a good mood.

I think Chuff and "Lonely" actually answered the question as it was posed :-)

I have dated women on medication and:

It was amazing when they were good and terrible when not.
It ended with a white flag on my part.
Not sure who they ended up with...

My advice, most times I'd say "medicated relationship"... sorry to be politically incorrect, but it is not a problem you can solve, unless you are SURE the bad does not outweigh the good.
