A good tip if you have some left over is to freeze it in an ice-cube tray. Then when you get your next bottle and want to cool it, use a cube of frozen Baileys.

Baileys would lose its alcoholic content if it wasn't corked. There is a cork in every Bailey's bottle. Therefore, some of its flavour. Good idea if you don't care about preserving the Bailey's essence. I would not enjoy it that way. We in Canada pay so much money for our pleasures, it would make it senseless.

There is not a cork in every bottle of baileys. I know this because of all the times I have purchased baileys I do recall every bottle having metal caps and I buy baileys regularly because my girlfriend likes to drink it. I have also had opened bottles of baileys sit in my fridge for a year and they were still good so I don't think that is the case and I would say it is best with milk and ice cubes yumm :) but not recommended for anyone looking for a quick buzz because it is quite a weak drink.

This is quite weird as I was wondering the same thing after opening a bottle little over an hour ago :eek:

That's messed up I have never seen a bottle of baileys with a cork in it where in canada are you getting them from?

I'm in england, my baileys bottle has a cap on I've never seen one with a cork eith

I'm in Ireland, where we make the stuff, and there is no cork, only a metal screw top.

Hi Eileen, I was mistaken if you read my last post. I was actually thinking, not of the cork in wine that you take out, but a small cork attached to the cap.

Baileys has a regular shelf life of 24 months. If you can pour some into a glass and it looks to be congealed at all it is no good. The problem is the cream. Also use a taste test, if it tastes bad, then toss it. I agree with tickle, it shouldn't last long enough to wonder about a shelf life. Y-U-M-M-Y!

To my Canadian friends who like the taste of Baileys; there is a cheaper version and quite nice in our LCBOs called 'carolanne'. I quite like it, and it is about 5 dollars cheaper.

We have something similar here... it's just called "Cafe Latte"
The alcohol content is less but it still tastes pretty good!

Poop on Grass:
1/2 Crème De Menthe
1/2 Baileys floated on top.
(Has a choc/peppermint flavour)

B52:
1/3 Kahlua base
1/3 Cointreu floated on the kahlua
