Girlfriend still wants to talk how do we get the no contact lifted?
Hi I'm 21. About six months ago I got charged with assault giving my girlfriend a bleeding nose. I got giving an undertaking saying not to contact my girlfriend but we still talked the hole time. And wanted to get back together and even hung out. My court date came around and I have 18 month probation 6 months being house arrest. We are still talking and we want to get engaged but there is a no contact for me to talk with her which was not her doing. We want to at least be able to talk legally cause we love each other. How do we get the no contact lifted? The probation I can deal with cause I want to take responsibility for what I did and take anger management so nothing like this ever happens again. We love each other how do we get this lifted. This is a huge thing for us please help thanks in advance. Means a lot to us

When does the order expire? If I were her, I'd never talk to you again. Accidents are accidents, but you hit her. At the very least I'm glad that you are taking responsibilities for your actions. Was Anger Management court ordered or was that a personal choice?

I wish this was somewhere besides criminal law, so I could give a real opinion of this.

A problem I see time and time again, the man abuses the girl and she runs the next day to spend the rent money to get him out.

Has the issues of why you abused her been addressed, have you started anger management classes.

And you know that she could put you away in jail for talking to her.

But if this is terms of probation, you and her have to request it from the PO officer.

Normally these rules are done for the girls safety.

Uh oh, I didn't notice that this was in the criminal law section. My answer was mostly opinion and questions, not really law advice. Sorry.
