I have a mortgage on a house in Nebraska and I'm holding the mortgage and I want to find out if I can use a vendors lien deed and do it myself and record it in Nebraska

I would not recommend selling a house with realestate advice. There are many loopholes to take care of on the way to obtaining a closing. Seek a lawyers advice.

There are two documents associated with a mortgage, One is a promissory note, which details the numbers. The other is the mortgage which states what property is being used for security for the note.

The mortgage document is used to file a lien against the property with the recorder of deeds.
