    Washer Dripping
I just found my mother-in-laws Kenmore washer dripping water into the tub in the off position and with the faucets turned off at the wall. It also made a strained sound after emptying yesterday but I was able to get it to spin by manually advancing the knob. Where do I begin looking for the problem. I am solely responsible for all repairs and running around.

If the water is leaking into the machine with the machine turned off then the water valve assembly is probably defective. I have no idea what the straining sound is.
