Why was I bleeding like this
Yesterday morning when I woke up I noticed brown discharge, and continued through the day. I called my doctor and he said that if I get sever bleeding and cramps to go to emerg. I had a busy night took my son to the park. When I got home and sat domw I had felt a warm gush. Went to the bathroom as I was peeing I was also letting out bright red blood ( not urinating blood) was about 2 table spoons would say and seem to slow down. But still after I would wipe I would see bright red drops on the kleenex. Today its back to brown discharge. Please tell me I am not miscarring or am going to miscarry. Is this normal, is this considered spotting although it is more that just spots here and there.

You need to see your doctor. There is no way we can tell you whether you are miscarrying.

I would love for my doctor to see me. He has no room and I have an appointment with him on Tuesday, so I basically have to wait or go to emerg... I really don't want to go to emerg and wait hours, but at the same time I don't want to worry and stress till Tuesday.

So you are risking your pregnancy to avoid a few hours at the emergency room?

You need to seek medical attention now.

I am quite certain that given the potential seriousness of your problem, you would be seen quite readily in the ER.
Waiting until Tuesday is not an option.

No I don't feel I am risking my pregnany. What will the hospital do for me that the doctor can do for me on Tuesday. Can they prevent me from having a miscarrage... I think not, There is nothing that can be done if it was happining. I just wanted some Positive feedback, If you don't have that then don't bother to answer. Some of you regesterd so called nurses are
    Real _ _ _ _ _ _ _!

    I am not a nurse,I am a mother.
There are things that can be done to prevent a "threatened miscarriage".
If the treatment is put into place soon enough.
Prescribing progesterone or by putting you on bed rest are two options.
I don't see where anyone was rude to you or gave you bad advice.

Personally I wouldn't risk finding out later because I would be doing everything in my power to take care of myself and my pregnancy, which included numerous visits to the emergency room through my first pregnancy.

What kind of positive feedback are you looking for? Go to the emergency room. I'm positive about that. You wanted to know about your situation, that is the answer, don't risk your pregnancy because it's too inconvienent for you.

That is a mother of two talking, not a nurse.

How far along are you? You're right in one regard... early on in pregnancy, if you were having a miscarriage you couldn't stop it.

However, if it is a threatened miscarriage, you would be checked and/or put on bedrest to wait and see how things progress. Since you aren't having cramping, and the bleeding has subsided, this may be more likely a possibility. Since you don't want to go to the ER, are you able to put yourself on bedrest, or at the very least, modified bedrest, until you can get seen?

I'm sorry you feel this way. However, there is nothing that we RNs can do over the internet or over the phone for that matter.

I don't know how far along you are, but if you are under 24 weeks, nature must take it's course.

If you can't see your doctor you go to the ER. There you will likely get an ultrasound to see if there is still a heartbeat or products of conception. If there are still products of conception you will need a D&C.

You may want some positive feedback, but sometimes there is no positive feedback to be given. What do you want? Do you want us to tell you that everything is okay when it may not be?
