Is my expunged record really expunged?
I did a diversion program when I was 18 for being caught with alcohol. I was ticketed, which technically an arrest, but I didn't go to jail, and there was no finger-prints, etc. I didn't even go to court. My name was called but instructions said to skip the day if you want to do this program. I did it all the way, and had a court order copy saying that all records of this were to be destroyed, and my status should return to same as before I was ticketed. I asked them about NCIC and they said they send a copy there. They didn't specify whether they told them to write "expunged" or to actually delete data.
If a big financial institution that is known for acquiring FBI data finds runs a search on me - what do you think they'll find? I can't believe this is about to prevent me from getting a great job... OMFG...
I already worked for big companies and my background came clear. I also had family members in police who had some access to big databases and I never showed up. I was also detained once afterwards and when the cop ran a check on me - I came clear, but I was let go free at that point, he was mistaken, no charge.
