I need a diagram or schematic for building a home septic tank.
We recently retired and bought a small coffee farm in Nicaragua. We are planning to build a house within the next year but need to put a septic system in first. I have been unable to find good plans for the construction of the tank/system. Does anyone have or know of a source for good diagrams of septic systems. Its not easy to find reliable contractors here in the mountains of northern Nicaragua. Help!

    Hi, gerryanddebi!

Have you tried the following searches?

    Google

    Google

    Google

    Google

I would also think that you would need to be in contact with governing officials to see if there are any specific requirements for the construction of one in order to be in compliance with any local ordinances that there might be.

Hopefully, others will also come along to address your question.

    Thanks!

You need an engineer to design this system for you.

The standard size tank for a 1 or 2 bath house is 1000 gallons. That means you need a tank about 100,000 gallons. Then you need to lay out distribution lines. How long and how many depends on soil conditions but it will be a lot.

If you are developing property for 100 homes you need an engineer to develop a sewage system for you.
