Water heater pilot does not stay on

How old is the water heater.. Brand name... model number would also be helpful.

Sounds like you need to replace the THERMOCOUPLE... see 1st picture. But, I need to know how old to tell if this is an older style thermocouple or a newer closed chamber system (click on best thermocouplekit.pdf) that requires us to look at more than the thermocouple... could be a vapor switch, for example... ;)
