    Venting a Basement Bathroom
I would like to add a bathroom and kitchen in my basement, but it was not stubbed for a bath when built and there is no available vent to vent an upflush toilet. Can it be done without spending a fortune and if so, what type professional is needed to add a vent?

What type of professional is needed, well a plumber would be a great start. If it drains it needs a trap , if it has a trap it needs a vent.

    Hey Pam,
Are you adding living quarters or a game room in your basement? By "upflush toilet" are you saying that the sewer's elevated and not under the cement?
You aqre not only speaking of one vent but two vents, more if you have to install a sewage pit and pump. .
Since you indicate that there's no plumbing roughed in there's more to it then simply running a vent out the roof. Get at least three estimates and go, not with the cheapest. But the contractor you're most comfortable with.
Expect to put out large scale buckeys for your addition. Good luck, Tom

Both great answers above... I agree. I would call in a few different plumbing companys for quotes and opinions. Sounds like you may have a good size job on your hands. If you could give us a little more info on your setup, we will try to give further advice. Good luck, and please keep us posted.
