Sometimes I am in another room and my mother yells back to me 'Whaaat? ' or comes into my room and ask if I was calling her name saying that she heard someone yelling her name or yelling "MAAA". Do we have ghosts or spirits in our apartment? Or is my mom just hearing things..

Maybe from all the years of me calling her all the time my voice got trapped in the walls lol :p

It is possible it's a spirit yes, this is very common to hear your name called, I've had it before myself and heard numerous people tell me of a similar experience. But, what I would say before thinking it maybe a spirit about calling her, is firstly how old is your mother? Does she have hearing problems and have you spoken to her about it?

Those are the first things you need to eliminate before thinking it's anything of a spiritual nature.

Yeah I would make sure she isn't just hearing things before I think it is a ghost. I know every now and then I could swear I hear somebody calling me and I know it is not a ghost or spirit.

It's AN APARTMENT are you sure your not just hearing the people acroos the hall... or to the left, right, above or below you?

Yes I read the post and yes I'm fully aware its an apartment! It is a possibility of neighbours yes, although surely her mum would hear other noises other than 'Maaaa' and her NAME all the time.

I don't know, she may just be interpreting sounds or voices from somewhere else as what she wants (expects) to hear.

I won't say it's impossible but definitely this is far more likely... in fact depending on how much you believe (or don't beleive) in ghosts it could be argued it's just as likely for the neighbor to have the same name.

Yes I agree with what you have said above,the neighbour could very well have the same name, and 'Maaa' well that can mean anyone's mum really depending where you come from! I wasn't suggesting it is a spirit, I was just saying it's a possibility it's a spirit,after all other logical things are eliminated. I am a spiritualist and yes I believe in spirits,as I do contact them, but even I look at logical reasoning first,unless I know otherwise, before I make that descsion that it has to be spirit.

My mom is 55, she doesn't have any diagnosed hearing problems but sometimes I have to repeat myself. Now that I think about it it could most likely be from outside or the other apartments but they would have to scream really loud..
