I have been asking around and sounds like a 3 way valve that may be stuck. In your case I guess stuck allowing heat but not hot water

You have the same boiler for your radiators and your hot water system? I have one boiler for my hot water radiators, and one gas hot water tank. The two systems are not connected.

It appears that your hot water boiler ( for the hot water supply, not the furnace boiler) is not functioning fully. If it is an electrical powered boiler it could be as simple as an element burnt out. There may be more than one element. Sounds likely, since your water supply is only luke warm. The other posibility is the thermostat ( may be turned down too low) If you hot water boiler is gas firied it may need to have the nozzles ( burner head) cleaned and adjusted for optimum performance. The same goes for an oil fired boiler - cleaning the injector nozzle & when applicable the fuel filter .

HOPE THIS IS OF SOME HELP MCM

Sorry just back from holiday. I've got a plumber coming today so hopefully I can get hot water back on the go. When I was talking to the plumber on the phone he thought it might be a blockage so I will find out soon.

    Thanks

That's it fixed now. There was a blockage in the hot water pipe going into the tank, it was blocked with stuff similar to tar and that's what was preventing the hot water getting into the tank.
