    Changing my child's last name
I just got married to a wonderful man that has been raising my 3 year old daughter since she was about 6 months old. I got pregnant by someone I was only acquainted with but he made it very clear that he did not want any part of her life. When she was born I gave her my 2 son's last name (different from mine) at the time I thought it was the best thing for her in the long run. But since she was 6 months old she has been raised by my husband and we want to legally change her name to his. There is no father listed on her birth certificate so how would I go about changing her name?

You dig up the man that you think is the father and he can go to court for a DNA test. Then from there he can authorize a name change. Also at that time custody / support may be worked out.
