93 Honda Accord ICM replaced, solved stalling. New speedometer issue.
Thanks to TXGreaseMonkey's advice, solved the sudden stalling of my 93 Accord. Replaced ICM, but now the speedometer is exhibiting issues. Wondering if it is related, as there was no issue with speedo before. With ignition off, speedo drops to 0. Ignition turned to on (before starting), speedo registers 10 mph. Once started and driving in excess of 10 mph, speedo registers 14 mph but never above. Will fall to 10 mph when stopping, but never below until ignition is turned off.

Is it possible I kinked or knocked a cable or something else loose under the dash? I don't believe its an issue with the new ICM, since before replacing it I swapped out the main relay (stalling problem still manifested itself during test drive and this was the first time the speedometer exhibited issues), so I reinstalled the old main relay and replaced the ICM. Solved stalling issue, but the new problem with the speedometer remained.

Only thing I can think to add was that I test drove the car after replacing main relay (with old ICM still in place) with the cruise control module disconnected and that was the first time the speedometer did not function properly.

. Clean the main ECM ground, located on the thermostat housing.

. Disconnect the negative battery cable, or remove the Backup Fuse in the under-hood fuse box, for 10 seconds. This will reset the ECM.

If the problem persists, focus on the Variable Speed Sensor (VSS), speedometer, and the printed circuit board.

Thanks for the reply, the speedometer seems to have "fixed" itself. While cruising along at about 50 it suddenly sprang from 14 to 50 and has worked since.

Did you clean the main ECM ground or reset the ECM?

If the problem reappears clean and crimp the female connectors going to the ICM, if necessary.

No, didn't do anything besides drive it. The speedometer "snapped" back into life about 45 minutes into a long drive 2 days after posting the question. If the problem reappears will try your suggestions. I don't have any idea why it suddenly started working again while driving, but am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth...
