Hello, I'm married and me and my husband have a total of four kids. We just bought a home. I have a child by another man which is my sons father. He is a single man that has had dozens of women in and out his life. He lives in a one bedroom apt. Our son is five. His father used to be on drugs. I'm very concern that he might revert back to doing doing drugs again. He has ask me over and over again well I drop, I tell him no, and he acts crazy calling my mother, going over my aunts house asking her can she talk to me. He has even went say let my husband be his father. I just won't be in his life. Then he disappears for days or even weeks at a time. I want to know could he get joint custody? And if he is granted joint custody will they stop my support for our son? And how should I address the court to keep the custody the way it is?:cool:

IF he goes to court to file for joint custody, sure, he could be granted it.

Are you talking joint physical custody or legal? Chances of joint physical are much less, historically. Scheduled visitation is more likely.

If he WERE to get joint physical, yes, they would redress the support based on that. Hard to say what the outcome would be since we don't know the full situation (including your income, his income, the court of jurisdication, the mood of the judge etc)
