I am trying to fix a craftsman mower and it will not turn over. Cleaned the carberator and has new battery. What could be wrong with it?

What does it do or what do you hear when you turn the key?

Does not do anything. Will not even turn over

By pass the igniton switch and jumper to the ignition coil directly from the battery. Does it turn over now?

I am getting it to click now, but from the starter there is a dead spot... trying to fiquare out where the dead wire is
