    Was that my period?
So like... at school today when I went to the bathroom... I saw a bunch of brown stuff in my underwear like it looked like I'd crapped myself and then when I wiped, there was some blood on the toilet paper, not like a ton but some, so I was wondering if that was my period or if the real one comes later or something because when I peed there was no blood actually in the toilet.:confused:

Congratulations! It does sound as though you have started your period. It may be brown for a little while, no need to be concerned.

Have you talked to your mother about this yet?

No I didn't want to tell her unless I was sure I had actually gotten it because I've read that this has happened to people and then they only get their actual period like months later.

It sounds like it might be your first day. Honestly, everyone is different. No cramps?

I did get some but I think it might've just been butterflies in my stomach because I was kind of nervous/confused after I saw that.

You might want to get some pantiliners. A lot of times periods won't become regular for a while. Like for me, I got my period, it lasted about a week. And then months later I got my second one. And for at least the first year or so it was almost impossible to predict when it was going to start. So by wearing pantiliners you don't have to worry about staining all of your underwear or ever having an emberassing spot on your pants but its usually more comfortable than wearing a pad when you're not actually on your period.

Pee comes from your urethra and your period comes from the vagina. So, there won't always be blood when you pee.
