I a have an RCA P52937SG chassis NO: PTK195M4B the problem is it keeps changing the channel. If I go into the menu the TV stays in the channel like it normally should ,but on the menu screen it starts to scan up and down.

Possibly a stuck or shorted button, either on the set or the remote?

I took the battery out of the remote still doing it.how could I tell if it is on the set or where could I look to try to figure out if it is beening shorted out.you don't think it could be something like the tunner it self .can you give me an idea where I can start to look.to try to narrow down the problem .thanks for any help I can get.Daniel

Sorry, I couldn't locate a free service manual, so I can't offer any more specific suggestions for your problem. Time to visit your local serviceman, I suspect.
