I have tried to jump it... should I still go the battery rout?
Never jump start a modern-day car--a voltage spike could fry the ECM, damage the alternator, or knock out various sensors. When this happens, the damage is extensive and expensive to fix. The only safe procedure is to remove and charge the battery. Ensure battery and cable connections are clean and tight.
