There is not much in the way of repair you can do with a optical drive. If it is no longer reading disks, it is likely defective and would need to be replaced. To eliminate any possible Windows problem, boot to a boot disk with CD-ROM support and see if you can view the contents in dos. If you need a boot disk, you can get an expandable boot disk image here.

After the PC boots from the boot disk, pay attention to which drive letter is assigned to the CD-ROM. For this example, we'll assume it is D:

At the prompt, enter "dir d:" and press enter. Remember to use the actual drive letter that was assigned during boot. You should see a listing of the contents of the disk. If you receive any error, your drive is likely bad and would need to be replaced.

New to what exactly: English? It is much easier to read and respond to a question if the author uses proper spelling and grammar. There are places on the Internet where your style of posting is appropriate, but this is not one of them.
