Maximum # of electrical outlets on any 1 circuit?
Can anyone tell me how many is the max on 1 15 amp circuit? And if you could narrow it down to the local area of wayne county Pennsylvania (honesdale) you would be a god!

    Gentlemen... no maximum number?
Common receptacles are calculated at 180 VA per receptacle (See Nec Article 220)
If the connected loads are intended to "continuous" then the circuit load is limited
To 80% or 12 amperes or 8 receptacles on a 15 ampere circuit breaker.
Greatest majority of the time connected loads are non-continuous and if the circuit breaker is listed for operation at 100% load you can then connect 15 amperes or 10 receptacles on a 15 ampere circuit breaker.
If you can find an NEC Handbook then the article for 220.14(I) has a bunch of pretty pictures and a good explanation of how to calculate the above answers given numerous conditions.

hfcarson, since this is a "Home > Home & Garden > Electrical & Lighting" message board it can be assumed that yes, there is NO maximum number of receptacles on a circuit.

Did you read all of 220.14(I)? Specifically the last sentence.

Also, this thread is almost three years old.
