Can anything be done about child support being paid and the child no longer lives with the person getting support, for at least 6 months. Would like the family member who is taking care of the child to receive. Living in New York State.

What is the custody arrangement of the parties involved ? If the money isn't being passed along then that's a court issue but first we need to know what the status is of those involved.

Yes sounds like time to return to court to modify the custody order and the support order

I'm in NY - the caretaker is entitled to the child support. Go back to Court with your proof and get the Order changed.
