Joint compound on skim coated wall
Can I use joint compound on a skim coated wall from which I removed glued ceramic tile. Some of the plaster skim coat came off and some didn't. Some of the glue also remained.

    Hi jimmy

Use spackle. Less likely to crack then joint compound. And can be put on thicker.

    Good luck

DO NOT USE SPACKLE spackle is a rubber based compound you can use drywall compound plus 3 is a good product to use and if you want to texture the area you can use all-purpose joint compound if you want you could use easy sand for your first coat but it is a setting type of mud so you only have 90 minutes to work with it if you buy easy sand 90
