    leaky faucet because of aerator
    Hello all -

I just finished installing a new Deltas Vessona Series model #25925 faucet in the bathroom. It looks great and everything works but when I put the aerator on after clearing the lines water sprays out from the facet to aerator connection. It's like the pressure is too much for the aerator to handel and water has to go somewhere, right. I tried dialing down the shut off values a bit to reduce the flow but that doesn't see to help either.

I're tried to clean the aerator but to no avail.l Any thoughts? It is possible the aerator needs to be replaced in a brand new faucet? Do they make standard replacements to fit more faucets or do I have to get this specific model from Delta again? I've even tried some teflon tape on the connect - no luck, it reduces the amount of spraying but not all.

    Advice appreciated. Thanks!

They do make universal fit aerators that are sold at all home improvement stores... may work here... may not.

The aerator that you have should have a black rubber washer supplied with it... that needs to be in place to stop the spraying. If it is in place.. did it get damaged? Look up inside the spout... anything damaged there?

Try this real quick... remove an aerator from another faucet, stick finger up inside the spout and make sure you remove the rubber washer with this aerator and then install that in the new faucet. If that works, get a replacement aerator at home improvement store. If that fails, then the faucet itself could be damaged.

Let me know what happens... O.K.

Let's see, you installed a new faucet, you removed the aerator to flush the lines. That was a good thing. Unfortunately you probably lost or misplaced the rubber washer in the aerator. Aerators are a number of screens (sometimes a small disk) and washers. They should seal when tightened hand tight. You can purchase a replacement aerator if you can't find the missing washer.

And I think that's where your problem began. I don't think it went back together properly.
Check to see if you have all the parts in the correct order,(see image) oe simply replace the aerator. Good luck, Tom
