Scary dreams won't go away with my teeth accident
About a 3 weeks ago I was wrestling at my high school and me and this kid were going at it (wrestling practice) and his knee came in and nailed me in the mouth and broke half of one front tooth and knock down and back the other front tooth and side tooth next to it I was driven straight to the dentists and I didn't not cry and it hurt allot (adrenaline I'm guessing) and I tried to make light of the situation making jokes on the way to the dentists trying to call my mother down and me to but even from then till now I'm still terrified about it (which I can understand) but its to the point where I have dreams of people coming up and punching me and kicking me in my teeth and doing a curb stomp to me and in the dreams I really get terrified and I actually feel pain and I try to tell myself its over and things like that but its almost every other night it happens and now its keeping me awake but I didn't want to go see a sphyciatrists since I didn't think it would be a big enough issue on but I would just like some advise on how to other help it go away or suppress it some

I remember I was sharpening a knife in the kitchen some years ago now. I accidentally slashed my knuckles to the bone. Yea, ouch. For many nights afterwards I kept dreaming of knives, wounds, blood.

I think that you're going through the same thing. It's shock and it's a reaction to a trauma or stressful event. Your mind doesn't think about it during day, so your brain replays it during the night. It's normal.

Try to take something relaxing before you go to bed - a relaxing tea, a hot milk with some honey. Do some exercise, listen to relaxing music, talk to your mom. It will pass.

Yep, I meant when you were in bed - soft meditative type music, perhaps through your iPod?

I read somewhere that dreams are in a way preparing you for another possible situation like the one you had. In your dream, it said that you'll try here to 'dodge' the punch or kick so that you don't hurt yourself. It say that you'll do the dream until you succeed. Then, if that happens again, you'll know how to cope with the situation.

It said that this is some sort of leaning through experience that you acquire in dreams. Like for example a mountain hiker slipping near the summit in real life but doesn't gets hurt fortunately. He'll dream of slipping in dreams and falling to the ground. After successive dreams, he learns to grip to a branch hanging nearby and actually saves himself.
