How do you maintain the perfect shade?
What I don't understand after reading a few posts is that to stop treating your skin will lead to you getting darker, but to continue treating your skin won't that make sure your skin continues getting lighter rather than stopping when your happy. I want a few shades lighter seeing as ma skin has gotten darker as I have gotten older. From medium brown to yellowish hue/lighter skin, I was born with uneven skin, where my face and chest are lighter a shade or two than the rest of my body, with my body also varying.

Another question: have people commented about sudden changes in colour, I'd find that a bit embarrassing, as a girl I knew left my school with average medium brown complexion and came back 2/3yrs later almost white and everyone was saying she pulled a Michael jackson it was so drastic and she was adament it was a change of weather that did it, as if anyone could believe it.
Any opinions advice welcome Im curious.

No you won't keep getting lighter and lighter. At some point your skin will stop getting lighter and you can just use the cream to maintain.
