It really depends on the sort of things your boyfriend likes and/or wants.

What sort of things is he interested in? Sports? Video Games? Comics?

Anything you make is a great idea for a gift. It's more personal than going out and buying him a dvd or something...

If he is into bikes you could find out (in a sneaky way) exactly what sort of bikes he likes and get him a model kit.
My partner loves Mazda RX7 cars so I hunted down a model kit so he could build his own miniature one, he loved it :)

If you want to do something cute and personal, experiences always make great gifts. I would say take him somewhere on an original date. Maybe go for a bike ride with a picinic setup at the end? And then go to micheals (its a craft store if you don't have it go to a craft store) and get some sort of wooden something like a box or a frame and paint it and take a polaroid or a picture and put it in there :)

Something creative but honestly I think memories are the best gift anyone can give to their partner :)

Oh another idea take him to a lake where you guys can do the paddle boat thing. Or drive in movie with snacks? Just be creative and have fun :))

I think I'm the rare guy who likes it when girls make me things as opposed to buy them. I still have a Valentine's Day card an gave me a few years ago that as hand made. But maybe he'd be into that as well.

Can you cook? If so cook him dinner and a cake for dessert.

I'm taking my boyfriend to a nice hotel with a jacuzzi in the room< I'm going to put rose petals everywhere and get his favorite food< should be very romantic and will definitely be something he will remember! can't go wrong with a king size bed, jacuzzi, and a room to just you to for the night!

Anything memorable. Personally I'm like Chuff, I prefer hand made stuff to bought things, it's more personal
