My Kenmore dryer electric large capacity dryer, model # 110.66722694 just stopped yesterday. I can turn the timer on, push the start button, open the dryer door and feel the heat. I can see a red glow through the vent in the back of the dryer but the dryer is doing nothing else, not spinning and no noise. I thought about the belt but wouldn't there be some sort of noise if it was just the belt? HELP! :(
It sounds like the drive motor is either 1) burned out or 2) not getting power.
Is it worth it to try and figure it out or does it sound like a new one is less expensive than repair?Quote:

Kenmore doesn't post their shop manuals online, so I can't really trace it down for you. There might be a wiring diagram taped inside the console of the dryer or somewhere else.
If you can verify that power is getting to the motor, but the motor is not rotating, then it's a no-brainer to replace the motor. If, however, power is not getting to the motor then you probably will need a wiring diagram to trouble-shoot it. There may be a wiring diagram inside the console, on the back of the dryer, or mounted inside an access door. If you can't find a wiring diagram, I'd recommend you get a service manual that, hopefully, contains a wiring diagram and possibly some helpful information:
