No but what are the benefits of not having him on the birth certificate?

I do believe he can request a paternity test through the court to and be put on the birth certificate.

It depends on where you live. In the uk the fathers name does not have to go on the birth certificate, and if unmarried it can only be added if the father is there at the time of registering the birth.

The rules vary from state to state. But the real question is what NoHelp asked.

If the father WANTS to be on the because he can go to court to force the issue.
