Replacing the zing ear switch in a ceiling fan
I have found the correct zing ear switch to replace the existing one , in which the chain broke off. I was able to remove the 4 wires from the old switch by placing a small flat head screwdriver in each slot and pulling each wire.
How do I insert the 4 wires into the new switch?
Do I need to take the switch apart?
I hesitate to simply push the wires into the slots on the new switch, in fear that this is not correct. If I have to pull the wires back out of the switch, I could damage somehting inside the new switch as I try to get them out.
    Thanks.

Just push the wire in the slot. If stranded wiring was used you might want to twist the wires together and put a drop of solder on the tip to make it stiff. Not much solder, just a little.

You just push them in. The ends should already be tinned (have solder on them) as they came out of the old switch.
