Our Skyline New Era 4cylinder automatic develped a nasty sound inside the
Engine compartment.After a thorough investigation we found the flexplate
To be broken.We than replaced it with a new one and re-assembled the engine.The engine sound perfect only one problem is although she goes into
All her gears ,she still doesn't move.

When we moved the engine to get to the broken flexplate we had to remove the transmission oil pipes that send the transmission oil to the radiator and back to the gearbox.A lot of oil leaked out but we replaced it with clean oil.

What can the problem be.

Need More Info. What Make And Model Veh? Did You Remove The Engine, Or Transmission?

If you took out the tranny check to make sure that the torq converter is in place and what soud does it make when you put it in gear and give it gas

I know the question is old but the answer might help someone else.

It sounds as if when you refitted the engine or transmission you didn't line up the drive lugs or flats on the torque converter with the corresponding slots or flats within the oil pump at the very front of the transmission.
Your options depend on whether the pump has been broken or damaged to excess.

Best case is that the flex plate will have 'given' enough to prevent major damage. If this is the case, you can undo the converter bolts, ease the trans back by loosening the bell housing bolts and turning the converter until you feel/hear it engage the pump. Refit all bolts.

Worst case is that you have cracked the pump inner gear in which case the trans needs to be stripped and a new pump fitted (this is a job for the experts!)

One good test to see if it is the pump causing the problem is as follows-

1 check oil level without engine running... should be way over high/normal mark
2 start engine and check again.

If the level is the same... pump is screwed!
If it goes down to high/normal mark... pump is OK and problem is elsewhere.
