Kidney Stones, and how to prevent them
I just recently found out I have been suffering from Kidney Stones. Usually they pass, however they are having a hard time this time around. I have tried to look it up on the internet what can help stop these from forming, and all I have really found is just speculation. They are extremely painful and hard to deal with.

I have heard too much Vitamin C and high protein diets can lead to kidney stones, but I don't eat a lot of protein or consume a lot of Vitamin C(maybe these are just rumors?). I'm young(22), I eat moderetly healthy, I work out at least 3 times a week.

Anyone know what I can do to so I don't get so many of them? :(

I heard somewhere that drinking lots of water helps... I also heard that it was a substance in particular, oxalate I think...

    Ah! I found a site!

The Kidney Stone Web Site - Preventing Kidney Stones

Hope you get well and get a proper solution for your kidney stones! :)

Wow I have the same problem! I am 23 and have been having kidney stones off and on since I was about 16. I'm assuming your stones are calcium based, those are the most common. I was told to avoid eating large amounts of foods that are high in oxalate. Tea, all kinds of berries, nuts...

Apparently, this disease has also a little to do with heredity. People having elders who were found to have kidney stones are more prone to having them too...

Also, does anyone know if it is normal to have several at a time? Or do people usually just have one?

I always have more than one at a time. I currently have 2 on the left side.

Ok, good to know. I got a CT scan today and was looking at the disc they gave me, looks like I have 4 on my right side and three on my left. Hopefully they will pass :(

I have a feeling I have had them since I was about 16.. I had extreme pain. Always sudden and sharp. This time it just got so bad I had to see a doctor. I have had nausea for almost 2 weeks now. Horrible.
