    Probation Violation
QUESTION: Can I go to Jail for Probation Violation?

I was on Probation and left the state to go to Rehab. I was discharged for medical reasons

My urine was dirty before I left for rehab

When I returned I went to outpatient rehab and was discharged after I told then I was prescribed Marinol (medical marijuana)

I will do anything to stay out of jail. If this is my 1st violation, CAM I GO TO JAIL ?

I live in NJ, Bergen County

    Thanks

    Hello how:

Of course you can go. What?? You think they carry guns to shoot mice?? NO. They got 'em to point at your head when you don't want to go with them to JAIL.

Certainly, if you left the jurisdiction WITHOUT permission, that ain't going to be good.

So, if you want to LESSON the sanctions they're going to put upon you, I'd hire me a good criminal attorney.

Did you have written permission to leave the state for the rehab? If not, then that is an automatic violation of probation. You will have to attend a probation violating hearing and at that time your judge will determine what your punishment will be - either more probation or time in jail up to your original probation time.
