    Text - how do I respond/interpret
Bumped into my ex last weekend. Haven't seen or communicated with her for over two months. At that time, we had a friendly conversation and she introduced me to her new bo. So this weekend I see her and we smile, say hello and move on. An hour later, she texts me writing: "You look great! It's obvious you've been working out. Your hard work shows fabulous results."

This sounded a little over the top and I wasn't sure how to respond. She took about two months to dump me for this other guy and it was rough. I didn't want it to end and got desperate/pathetic for a while around Christmas. Anyway, in January when she finally ended it and told me she wanted to be just friends (no benefits), I told her I needed some time and wouldn't be calling anymore. I haven't. It was very difficult not to for a while, but I've gotten on with my life and was doing quite well until I got the text.

I'm pretty sure I don't want to settle down with her, but I would love to see her once in a while again.

Anyone have thoughts on what that text meant?

I responded about a day later with: "Thanks for the text."

    I wish

Don't get too caught up in interpreting the signs of the text. She's probably just feeling guilty for the break up. Like you said, 2 months or less and she's already with a new dude.

You've been making great progress since the breakup, don't let her mess with your mind. Carry on with your life.

Keep your communication with her to a minimum or zero, until you've fully recovered from the breakup and not analyzing all these little details!

It means if you can't be friends leave her alone.

The fact your reading so much into this is probably an indication you can't be.
