THe pro's and con's of male modelling
    Male modelling and the industry

    Hello

Does anyone remember the name of the male model competition program that was on the BBC a couple of years back. How about any similar programs (for males?)

I would like to hear from a male model who has had related success in the industry preferably in high fashion, catalogs and catwalks.

What is it like? How hard is it and what are the heavy demands? How did you feel before you started and after?

Also, and more importantly, how hard is it for black men to make it?

I am a female speaking on behalf of my friend and we are looking into submitting some photos of him.

    Thanks

Hi summertyme, I just googled 'male modelling in Britian' and came up with a lot of websites which could probably benefit you with a little ground work regarding the questions you just asked.

I don't know how hard it is for black men to make it, but if your friend has striking features and is extremely photogenic just go for it and send his pic to some topnotch modelling agencies.

I don't think the preliminaries are easy and to be quite frank I knew of one fellow who took 2 years to get a leg up in the modelling industry in Toronto. As you may have noticed from reading the papers, all the top models were discovered doing mundane things like shopping in malls.

    Best of luck

    Hello summer:

These are all the wrong questions... Of course, it's HARD. What?? Being a success isn't easy, I don't care WHAT you're pursing...

Do you see black faces in your magazines?? Then SOME black people model. If SOME do, why not your friend??

Of course, there are heavy demands. What?? You want him to be a success, AND you want it to be easy??

Look. STOP asking questions, and go find an agent. If he CAN'T do THAT, he'll NEVER be a success.
