I have a question about a situation that has arisen at my job. I am currently employed part-time as a teacher in a local high school. I am up for a job in my department for next year that would be full time. I have had good reviews and observations from all 3 of my supervisors. A colleague of mine that has certain issues with me, however, recently made an appointment with the director of human resources to "complain" about the business department and made a comment involving my name that he is "concerned with the way I am teaching my subject matter". He also complained about other members of my department, however, those individuals are tenured and are not up for a job as I am. If this issue should keep me from getting this position, do I have legal recourse against this person? What legally can I do?

Nothing, you have no legal standing and people saying good or bad about you is their opinion and will be viewed so by the HR director. IF you do not get this job you will never have proof that this person caused the administrator to pick someone else.
