The audio output from a computer normally comes from a round green 1/8" mini-jack attached to the sound card or motherboard at the rear of the computer. If the computer supports multi-channel audio, multiple 1/8" mini-jacks, RCA jacks, or an optical connector may be present. Standard VGA only carries a video signal. Using standard cables, you will likely need an additional cable to connect the audio from whatever audio jacks the computer has to whatever audio jacks the TV has. Or, special VGA w/stereo audio cables are available. HDMI is a more elegant connectivity solution for multi-channel audio if both the computer and TV support this format which can transmit both the video and audio signals.

Sadly. There is no green or any colored jack in my laptop. All I have are two usb ports, microphone plug, headphone plug, the plug for the PC to TV cord (which is a high def cord it says it is on the box to be specific the box says HD-15 to HD 15 male to male connector) the cd slot and yet another usb port

Binx you should be able to get a cable that connects to the head phone jack to your TV or receiver if you have one. That is how I get sound from my laptop to my receiver. The cord I have is a Y cord the 1/8" mini jacks plugs into my lap top and the RCA plugs to my receiver Check out the picture below it is the cable I am talking about. The VGA is for video only no sound.
