Birth Mother willing to sign over rights
I live in Indiana and I am a step mother of 2 boys. Their Birth Mother is wanting to sign over her rights to me... I don't even know where to start and want everything to go smoothly the boys are excited about the whole deal. I love them and they are always with me at all times. Can someone please help me and tell me where to begin... I know I can do a step parent adoption but I don't have the money as of right now.

If you don't have the money there may be an agency that can offer to assist you in drafting the proper documentation. However, if you don't have the money, think twice about taking on the responsibility of two young boys. They require much money.

Can your husband help you pay for a lawyer because if your doing a stepparent adoption I am assuming the boys are your husband kids.

When it comes to adoption I really think a lawyer is best. If you can't afford one then do as the above member suggested or you can Google the forms needed to do it yourself and I believe you need to go to court. A lawyer is your best option.

Maybe you should start looking around and research the prices and maybe wait until next year to use your income tax money. Just another thought.
