What are the first steps I need to know in order to start my own moving company

Well do you have any equipment? I suppose no matter what the first step is to create a business and try and get a loan for equipment / trucks.

I would suggest looking at your local Small Business Development Center.

They offer great classes about lots of different aspects of starting your own business. My experience taking their classes was very positive. The other great thing is that your classmates are going through the same things you are and you can help each other.

Another great resource is SCORE. It's a group of retired executives who will mentor you and answer your questions free of charge.

Before you invest money in the equipment you would need to run the business, it's best to find out if the business has a chance of working and SBDC and SCORE could help you do that.
