    Domiciliary Parent?
I share a 3 year old precious little girl with an ex girlfriend. I recently was awarded joint custody after countless times of trying to have my little girl without having to be at my ex's. But my lawyer was not a good one so to speak, because I asked for joint physical and legal custody. I get to have my daughter on my days off (I work shift work) but her mother is considered domiciliary. How can I get that changed? Because her mother has some mental problems, little education, and can not financially provide for herself or our daughter. I pay child support which is not a problem, but I think when it comes to making decisions for our child like education, medical, etc. should be done by me or both of us not solely her considering her mental disabilities. I never brought it up in court because I wanted to make sure she gets half the time with our daughter too. What should I do?

If it is a legitimate concern, you can try to have her found unfit. Its not that easy though and she seems to have been managing for the last 3 years, so I would accept what you have unless you are willing to spend thousands on legal fees with no promises.
