Hi, I'm in the process of remodeling my small bathroom. I have knocked out a closet to clear out more space and want to move the sink to the opposite wall that it is on now, which is right next to the toilet. I am an amateur remodeler, however I would like to avoid as much spending as possible, the thing that I'm the least confident with is plumbing. I need to know how I need to set up the sink. I was wondering if, because the toilet and the bathtub/shower are already on the wall that the sink is going, if I could run the hot and cold inlets of the same pipes as the tub and drain it into the same drain as the toilet?

This might be impossible and if I have to pay for it to get done I will, but can somebody tell me how I need to do it so I can decide if I'll be able to or not?

Let me show you a typical, (in my area) bathroom group rough in. This configuration only uses one vent for the entire group.
4" ,(under cement and basements) 3" (on first and second floor) from the toilet to the main. The lavatory to connect to the toilet drain line and vent to the roof or revent back in the attic to a existing roof vent. The tub/shower to connect to the lavatory drain line and be wet vented by it as will the toilet. Be advised to always check local codes before changing or remodeling your drainage system. In other words, what Tom is saying is that your sink may already connect into the toilet drain... so you may just need to shorten the drain pipe and relocate it.

Be clear, however, that the sink will still need an 1.5" vent installed... like it has now. You will cap the old vent and run a new vent over at the new sink. That vent will connect into the tub vent OR it will continue up to connect with the old sink vent in the ceiling.

Yes, you can use the hot and cold water pipes from the tub to feed the sink.. ;)
