Child Abandonment

The father of my child has "filed" "SEX CRIMES" at the Jefferson court house. My child's sibling by another mother explicitly told and begged me to never allow her father to be left alone with him. The mother has left the state in order to keep her child safe. My child is now 6 yrs old. He visits her only with my supervision every 6 months -if that. He disappears for long periods. His last disappearance was from Oct 08 through Apr 09. His excuse was he was in "rehab". Abandonment is my child's cry. My issue is, he is not here to visit her, he takes no interest of her world. His only % is to get me alone. And worse than that He wants to date my mother! This man is a sick individual. His inuendoes leaves us very uncomfortable. And its downright despicable! His child support is past due, 12 months a year. I want to terminate his rights all together. Any advice? Could we get a restraining order so that if he wants to visit his child, he would have to set up via court supervision? Need help and guidance! :confused:

Considering he has been accused of sex crimes, it is very possible to retrieve a restraining order against him. All you have to do is have a legit reason for the restraining order and it is possible that that won't be a problem. Good luck!

No this is not abandoment, that is leaving the child by thierselfs

It may be a term used to enforce the child support.

If he is sentenced to a long prison time some states will allow rights to be taken away.

You can if there are dangers require a supervised visit only or try and get no vists at all.

Please define what you mean by filed sex crimes? Has he been accused, arrested, prosecuted?

You don't want a restraining order, all you need is to go to court to modify the visitation order. If you can prove he is a danger to the child this shouldn't be a problem.
