What do you mean Saketh?
There are lots of possible reactions, some of them have a general equation, but the others are tricky. One cannot easily tell what are the products from a given sample of reactants unless the reaction is done in the lab and the products analysed, one already knows the reaction.
You have the
-Metal plus acid, basic one
Metal + Acid -> Metal Salt + Hydrogen Gas
-Burning of metals
Metal + Oxygen -> Metal Oxide
-Metal oxide and acid
Metal oxide + acid -> Metal Salt + Water
-Metal Carbonate and acid
Metal Carbonate + Acid -> Metal Salt + Carbon Dioxide + Water
-Decomposition of metal carbonate through heat
Metal Carbonate -> Metal oxide + carbon dioxide
amongst others. Of course, there are exceptions to the general equations, like the reaction of Copper and Hydrochloric acid
C + HCl -> No reaction
