24 Volt connection on central vac
I just got a brand-new Hoover central vac as a wedding present and I'm trying to connect it. The instructions are VERY vague they simply say to connect the 24 volt power in the proper space. Easier said than done... I have the rough in from my contractor and the wire looks like a phone line. It has red, green, black, and white wires. There are only 2 little harnesses to connect them.

My question is which colors go with which? And also does it matter which side they connect in?

    Thanks for the help!

At each vacuum outlet there should be two wires that get connected to the hose, if you have a switch on the wand you can control the central unit from the wand, no switch on the wand then then central units starts immediately.

Not sure why you have four wire cable pulled, maybe that's all the contractor had for cable, only need two wires brought from the central unit to each vacuum outlet.

Use the red and black wires, fold back the green and white as spare wires. Does not matter which black or red wire from the cable gets connected to the two wires on the outlet, just one for one. All the two wires are is a switch.

    Hope this helps.
