High beam on harley not working
I have a 1996 harley 1200 custom and it is like new condition, only 14000 miles. My highbeam light went out. I tried a new harley bulb but same problem. The switch seems okay and indicator light shows I have highbeam on. Low beam works fine.?

From your headlight switch, power goes to indicator and High Beam, since indicator is good, switch is good, I would remove headlight and test for voltage, if none, trace from switch to bulb socket.

Sounds like you lost your ground on the high beam side. Take your headlite out and check you ground connection on your headlite plug

It sounds like you lost the power wire to the high beam side. Pull the plug and visually check it to see if one of the wires is broken. If you can't see anything then check it with a volt meter.

Ground is common with high and low on most Harleys/Motorcycles. I believe you lost the High Beam element of a dual element bulb.
If ground was lost, youl would have likely lost signals.
The ground to the Head light and front connections are important, If no ground is available, ground may try through your steering bearings..
Check bulb, and voltage to bulb.
