Migraines, no meds or treatment working
I have had migraines for 3 years, we have done everything we can think of! And more! Just looking for some more ideas.. And doctors are still pushing me off as nothing.
Migraine: Highly debilitating, light sensitive mainly. Starts in the mornings roughly but can randomly pop up! We can not find a trigger, Nor do they let up when I leave the country, My head is clean, and I make sure to take good care of myself. Aka: eating, sleeping, exercise.

I'm not going to go into too much detail, really I'm just looking for vague ideas of what could cause that... So I can get rid of it!! I'll try anything! Thank you~

Find a new doctor. No doctor should just push off a concern like that.

Find a new doctor and ask about maxalt. It did wonders for me :)

    I agree with you janine...

There are also some great natural remedies for migraines that might help you.
I use Migraine sticks (available pretty much everywhere)... they are little liquid filled sticks that you rub onto your temples, they fell kind of cold when you rub them on and have a calming lavendar fragrance...
While they are nothing compared to precription painkillers, they do ease them a fair bit :)

Ahhh, Migraines can also be caused by many allergies, particularly food allergies. Have you seen an allergist?

There is one problem... I live in shanghai, china, so things like Maxalt and Migraine sticks are unknown here or extremely hard to find! But I have tried acupuncture along with a herbal supplement (Only made it worse), 2 different beta-blockers, a night mouth guard, and now am on the second beta-block, Metoprolol (it is the 2'd week so still waiting to see if it is helping or not) along with a anti-nausea medication (metoclopramide). But that doesn't seem to be able to help without making me fall asleep for 7 hours... so I feel good! Just... am asleep. :P Today I went to a new doctor, in Hongkong, and was given a prescription of Tramadol, though I truly am reluctant to go on it as I have a weak system.

People I have seen: Neurologist, 12 different doctors, acupuncturist, nutritionist, and an allergist

    Thank you all though!

Wow, Tramadol is a pretty hefty drug.

What sort of over the counter medication is available to you in China?
Here we have all sorts of migraine specific tablets, from ones with codeine in them to ones with muscle relaxants.

Have you had any sort of scans to check there isn't a more serious problem?

Yeah... I'm avoiding taking it, the reason they went to that one is that they know that drug works on me (My mum had brought me in on a BAD day) and don't want to wait to see if others work, as I'm missing far too much school.
I'm all clean scan wise, here... Nothing is over the counter, besides Tylenol/Advil sort of things, I also tried desolvable (I give up on spelling that word :P) Advil.
I will be moving to Australia in about 2 months, so I'm having family search for migraine specific doctors/clinics.
    Thank you!

    No worries kuro-kat...
Sounds like you don't have much in the way of medications over there.

And congrats on moving to Australia, you will love it here :D

A trigger that is hard to identify is weather because the maigrane will occur 0-48 hours BEFORE the rain. Also check with any people with arthritus and see if they are in pain too.

Food triggers should be findable. Any possibility it's the water?

Well I guess that could be it... it's our summer now, so we don't have any rain at the moment? I don't know anyone with atheritus I don't think? I'll have a search :P
I doubt that, we drink bottled water here, never the tap water. Could it be something in the milk or juice?

Have you bee checked to see if you are lactose intolerant?
I know I feel awfully sick and get headaches if I drink too much milk.

    Still no luck,
We thought that I was lactose intolerant for a while but even after cutting out at least 90% of all milk there was no change?
I'm leaving for Australia tomorrow night so hopefully we will find a cure!

I occasionally get migraines as well. One thing I've found out is that natural sleep helps prevent them. Try going to bed earlier and waking up earlier, sometime pulling all nighters and forcing an uncomfortable hour nap make migraines worse. Also, if possible, take vitamins daily and make sure to drink a lot of water, avoid soda, carbonated beverages, and caffeine. Caffeine causes headaches in many people during crashes.
