Why won't my 1998 chevy caviler start?

First, tells us what is happening.

YOu get in, put the key in, turn it and..

Tell us what you can.

Any noise, lights, smells, etc.

Check the battery power, conections, spark plugs, distributor cap, starter, etc.

Make sure it doesn't look like anything is disconected that shouldn't be. If you don't know about that kind of stuff ask a friend who does. YOu don't want to kill the battery or anything.
